Así es, Carlos. Incluso el gobernador del estado de Georgia, Brian Kemp, hizo un llamado a todos los georgianos para que se preparen a este frente frío que se aproxima en las próximas horas.
‘Hey everybody, just wanted to give you a quick update on the potential winter weather we have coming in this weekend. Looks like we’re going to get another storm. Still early, uh, but looks like it could potentially ice and be a little worse than the last storm we had. Hopefully that plays out and doesn’t happen, but this is a good time to start preparing for this weekend should that happen. If you need batteries, food, gas in your vehicles and other things, you’ve got plenty of time. Be winter weather aware, know that we’ll be messaging the rest of the week, working with our state and federal partners on the weather forecast. And as always, our state team will be pretreating and preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.’
Ante esto, la ciudad de Atlanta, como lo ven en este comunicado, ha emitido una alerta explicando que van a cerrar todas sus sedes durante estos días. Y es que se prevé que en gran parte del estado estas temperaturas tan bajas ocasionen hielo, lo que pudiera traer cortes en el servicio de energía eléctrica y que también las carreteras se vuelvan más peligrosas con el Black Ice, o conocido como hielo negro en español.
